Everytime i reboot i have to reinstall powernap, it doesn't start and i get the following:

sudo service powernap start
start: Job failed to start

 sudo service powernap restart
restart: Unknown instance:

which powernap
/usr/sbin/powernap

I see nothign in the boot.log
just this line in the kern.log

Mar 17 17:04:48 buntu kernel: [76008.437308] init: powernap main process (14667) terminated with status 1

then this in syslog
Mar 17 17:04:48 buntu kernel: [76008.437308] init: powernap main process (14667) terminated with status 1
Mar 17 17:12:03 buntu kernel: [76442.908783] init: powernap main process (14768) terminated with status 1

Does anyone know what i can do?

Hi there,

Can you please enable DEBUG=3 in /etc/powernap/config, try to restart the daemon and paste the output of /var/log/powernap.log and /var/log/powernap.err

Thank you!

Hi,

i can't do that as the service doesn;t start and there is no powernap.log /.err in var/log as it fails to start at boot.
The only way to start it is to remove it, which i have done in an effort to start it.

I'll update when it fails.

Cheers,

Just wanted to update the ticket, after the last install I've rebooted and had powernap working like a dream, the porcess IO monitor is a greate addition for NFS monitoring.

This i guess cn be closed but i can't seem to find the way to do it.

Thanks,
