Bug Description
Nvidia driver X/Org, high end video (Quadro 980 XL rings a bell, dual DVI, using primary only) in HP workstation about 3 years old. Ubuntu 6.10 distribution.
Graphics render very slow at welcome screen and during moves.
Somewhat new to Linux and X/Org, so not sure how to validate video setup. Max in system tool is 1024x768 @60Hz. This seems to indicate that the Nvidia driver has not loaded. I'll look into this in another forum.
NV28GL [Quadro4 980 XGL] from the 'device manager'. dmesg does not have a clue. Ooh, that card should have OpenGL support... helps with rendering speed. XFree86 has a startup log, what is the X/Org log? Checking that next...
