Bug Description

After the screen went black for three minutes about every 30 seconds a bit larger part of the screen became visible again. But i had to restart Ubuntu! I could do this because the upper right hanf part of the screen because visible afte three minutes.
Positive: very nice interface this chess program has!!!

Thank you for the crash report! Do you have a computer you can test on that does not have the Nvidia driver running? There have several issues related to crashes when using the Nvidia driver, and I'd like to rule those out.

I'll try to find a way, because i'm not that versed in Linux! I can
confirm that it was not a freak accident, because after two to six moves
the screen goes invariably black and only a herd reset helps me out!

This almost looks like another reincarnation of the famous nvidia driver crash.
