I'm afraid that there's something seriously wrong with your system. Your dpkg database seems to be corrupted (as you get all those checksum errors), and the package contents of postgresql-common is wrong too:

Processing triggers for postgresql-common (162) ...
supported_versions: WARNING: Unknown Ubuntu release: 14.10
Error: The new file /usr/share/postgresql-common/logrotate.template does not exist!

This both does not make sense -- Version 162 does ship that file and it also knows about Ubuntu 14.10. What's the output of

  dpkg -s postgresql-common

? What does

  sudo apt-get install --reinstall postgresql-common

do, does that help?

Hi Martin,
It was the automatic system that has send this ugly mail.
In between i have uninstall postgres and reinstall a version upper (the
version i had was strangely no more in the dpkg database). And every
things go simply fine.
Thanks anyway
