Bug Description

After updates maybe 1 week ago, printing pdfs generated using lyx have stopped working. After choosing print (in evince or okular), pdftoraster-poppler uses 100% cpu for up to an hour, before printing only the math from the document.
If I use a symlink to pdftoraster instead, the documents print fine.
Using Natty development branch.

I think that I have the same or at least a related problem: When printing djvu files to my Samsung ML-2010R using the SPLIX driver, I repeatedly got session timeouts and and a very high CPU utilization due to pdftoraster-poppler. Replacing /usr/lib/cups/filter/pdftoraster-poppler by a symlink to /usr/lib/cups/filter/pdftoraster solves the problem. The printer is fed as fast as possible and the CPU utilization does not skyrocket.

Could it be that the SPLIX driver triggers a bug in the poppler code? (Maybe this interesting: The problem goes away as well by using the foomatic/GDI driver instead of the SPLIX driver. But in my opinion the foomatic/GDI driver lacks features and printout quality is lower.)

Also getting this bug, I believe, with the "File '/System/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/sRGB Profile.icc' not found" error pointed out at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=10873253. Unfortunately, pdftoraster (non-poppler) is also very slow (20 minutes to print the one page of http://www.choosemyplate.gov/downloads/TenTips/DGTipsheet1ChooseMyPlate.pdf).

I'm having the same problem with a HP Laserjet P4015dn. May be related to the printer's drivers?

I found out that if I change the printer driver the problem dissapears. I was using an hpcups driver and I changed it by an hpijs driver.

hmmm. kind of jerky problem. Reinstalled the system and unfortunately wanted to show a friend how printing in linux is easy. Plugged-in the printer and printed the test-page and some text. BUT when printing a photo, it didn't work. pitty and shame.

replacing the propeller file worked, now no error displays.... but the printing is very, very slow.
What shall I do? Downgrade to 10.10 or what?
