bad highlighting of a word that follows italics

Bug Description
I will attach the file and a screen shot of the problem. if you highlight the word 'transition' on page 3 of the document you just see blocks not highlighted text. there are 2 places this happens on page 3: where it says d-transition and f-transition.

more like a poppler bug and it's a known bug that's bug 39890, marking it as dup, thanks.
