Bug Description

Binary package hint: policykit

One of my PCs was upgraded to Hardy Alpha last Saturday. I found that policykit couldn't get configured correctly.
Due to this hal wasn't configured as well.

I have a similar error, here the exact error message:

Setting up policykit (0.7-2ubuntu4) ...
chown: cannot access `/var/run/PolicyKit': No such file or directory
dpkg: error processing policykit (--configure):
 subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1

sudo mkdir /var/run/PolicyKit

seems to fix the problem and let's the configuration of its dependencies succeed.

I can confirm:
creating the directory solves the problem.
I can now update my packages.

I hope they fix this before the final release of Hardy!
