Bug Description

Binary package hint: policykit-1-gnome

I believe this bug is a duplicate of Bug 694032. However, I am filing a new bug report, because my stack trace looks better (though not perfect).

Shortly after booting Natty i386 and starting an Ubuntu Classic Desktop session, I updated the system (with 'sudo apt-get update' and 'sudo apt-get upgrade' from the GNOME Terminal). Shortly after that, the Apport icon appeared on the GNOME Panel. I clicked it, and this bug report came up, indicating that polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1 crashed with SIGSEGV in g_data_set_internal(). I don't know what caused the bug. Nothing I tried to do seems to have failed.

This bug might be related to Bug 685168, which I have been experiencing from time to time lately on this machine (as duplicate bug 692397). When I saw the Apport icon, I had assumed it was that bug again. However, in that bug, the segfault was in g_datalist_id_set_data_full() rather than g_data_set_internal() as is the case here.

Well, my stack appears corrupt, so I doubt this stack trace will add much of value. I'm marking this as a duplicate of Bug 694032.
