Bug Description

I use autofs to mount nfs shares but when doing so I'm unable to suspend my laptop. I get this error message:

Freezing of tasks failed after 20.00 seconds (1 tasks refusing to freeze, wq_busy=0):

Same result if I mount the shares manually.

I also tried a daily build of ubuntu 12.04 but the problem still exists.

In my case (bug #930576), I can't suspend to ram, only when nfs share are mounted in fstab. Even in this case, I've got the problem while Exaile access the nfs share, but can't reproduce the bug in other situations.
Using autofs solve the problem !
I use nfsv4, if the protocol version of nfs is important.

Got it here too, I have to unmount every nfs mount to get it to suspend. Here's my trace:

I read in an other bug (can't remember the bug number) that network is
stoped before unmounting share. This was causing problems with samba, and
was fixed by using umount hook script before shutting down the network.

May it be the same problem here with nfs share ?

I think this commit is the solution to the problem and it was first released in v 3.3 in the upstream kernel.

I have tested with the beta of ubuntu 12.10 Qantal ( kernel 3.5.0-13) and I don't see this problem anymore.
