Bug Description

Binary package hint: pm-utils

Basic Info:
HP DV5000z (AMD Turion + ATi Radeon XPress200m + Broadcom b43 Wireless)
KUbuntu Jaunty
Kernel 2.6.28-11-generic / 2.6.29-020629-generic
Up-To-Date
Suspect hardware; ATI Radeon XPress 200m which now must run with RADEON instead of FGLRX
Last worked under Intrepid with FGLRX

After plenty of updates, Suspend/Standby still does not work. The laptop goes to sleep, and upon pressing the power button will appear to come back to life, but the screen stays black, and the rest of the machine is non-responsive, aside from the fan humming away and the keyboard initially lighting up. I still have found no useful information on this issue.

Thanks for any info you may have, I hope you find this bug report useful. Let me know if you could use any other information.

You may try with a liveCD of karmic. You can try installing an ssh server, and see if you can connect ton the computer after resuming.

OmniUni, thank you for reporting this bug to Ubuntu. Jaunty reached EOL on October 23, 2010.
See this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases

Is this reproducible in the latest release of Ubuntu via http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ ?

If so, please execute the following via a terminal in order for the necessary debugging information to be attached:
