Bug Description

Binary package hint: pm-utils

In System/Prefs/Power Management, I've set the screen to sleep after 15 mins on AC, 11 mins on battery. But Intrepid never powers it off. Screen dimming on idle works, as does the 'set brigtness to x%' setting.

Dell XPS 1530
intrepid 8.10, kernel 2.6.27-4 amd64
gnome-power-manager 2.24.0-0ubuntu2
pm-utils 1.1.2.4-1ubuntu2
nvidia 177.76 (and also 173.14.12)

I have seen it try to dim several times now at the 15 min mark on AC: the screen 'brightness' gradually fades as normal (ie the screen goes darker while the mouse pointer stays bright), but then it springs back to the default brightness setting instead of going blank.

In case it helps,

xset dpms force standby

does work. The screen backlight goes off (and comes back on when you press a key).

It has been fixed - it's working as of (approx) Intrepid RC1.

pm-utils is at version 1.1.2.4-1ubuntu7.
