Bug Description

Binary package hint: pm-utils

Brand new Thinkpad X300 running Hardy (installed with alpha6 and subsequently updated to current packages).
Attempting to suspend (either with pm-suspend or g-p-m) causes the machine to do a very good impression of suspending, without actually staying suspended.
It switches vt, switches off the LCD and fan, and turns on the crescent moon LED on the laptop, but then immediately resumes.

Strangely, calling /etc/acpi/sleep.sh force does cause the laptop to stay asleep..

after adding some bash -x jazz to both acpi-support and pm-utils' suspend paths (which I note are disturbingly different), it turns out that this is caused by the e1000 module not being unloaded during pm-util's suspend.
acpi-support unloads all networking modules, pm-support unloads none.

As such, this is either a bug in pm-utils for not removing e1000, or in e1000 for not suspending correctly. Possibly both.
