Bug Description

Binary package hint: plymouth

Normally my computer starts just fine.
This morning, it kinda froze at at the Ubuntu splashscreen and never presented me with GDM.

It is okay that sometimes software may crash, but I found it very annoying that pressing Ctrl+Alt+F1 did not work, it was impossible for me to get a terminal. Not okay.

The only thing I could do was Ctrl+Alt+SysRq+REISUB. Luckily something worked, and I didn't have to powercycle.

This usually does not happen, but just happened again.
I don't know how to reproduce it, but apparently it is reoccurring.
