Bug Description

Binary package hint: plymouth

I started testing natty daily builds since just after alpha 1. Every time, the Ubuntu logo that plymouth displays looks terrible. I think it is not being anti aliased. Specifically there are a few hanging pixels off the curves of the text that give them jagged edges. This may be an issue with the ati radeon drivers instead of plymouth, not sure.

It is looking more like a driver issue. I upgraded to the natty versions of plymouth and grub on my maverick install and it looked fine. This probably should be reassigned, but I'm not sure where to.

Does upgrading libdrm-radeon1 on your system to the natty version affect the
display? It could be a bug in the libdrm library, or it could be a bug in
the kernel.

Still fine after upgrading that.

Likewise after upgrading the kernel.

This also happens on my dell netbook which has an integrated intel graphics chip, so it does't seem specific to ati.

could you run 'apport-collect 694149' on the affected system, please?
