Bug Description

Binary package hint: plymouth

Dist : Ubuntu 10.10
System (GPU) : nvidia with nouveau / nvidia with nvidia binaries and v86d

Step to reproduce: shutdown the computer.

Expected result: the slash should appears with purple background and animated dots.
Actual result: sometime (actually each time with v86d) the background isn't purple but is a normal black console (with an underscore and/or consoles messages). The dots are animated and refresh correctly.
