Binary package hint: plymouth
I guess it should already be fixed. But not in my case. 'c' does not cancel the check, whereas 'Esc' cancels it...

It would be worth comparing your issue with the one mentioned in that comment to see if you are experiencing the same problem. If that is the case this bug could be marked as a duplicate of that one.
