Bug Description
Binary package hint: plymouth
I used "video=1024x768 splash quiet" in the kernel command line during the following. Also, I'm using radeon KMS driver.
After the kernel boots, there is no splash and display stays in 80x25 text mode for a while. Then it switches to 1024x768 text mode, screen still empty, cursor is visible in leftmost column in some middle line. System continues to boot. Then the splash screen appears for a short moment and within 2-3 seconds the gdm login screen is displayed.
This was different a few kernel versions earlier. I suspect the radeon KMS module is loaded much later now whilst booting and plymouth can't cope with that.
