Bug Description

Kubuntu Lucid, installed from the 20100419.1 lucid-desktop-
When the Kubuntu splash screen comes up, it is mostly blue, but the "Kubuntu" logo has a red corona around it, and the bottom of the screen is covered in a green snow pattern. The screen colors switch to something normal just before the desktop appears.
The computer is a Dell D600 with an ATI Radeon RV250 (Mobility FireGL 9000) graphics chip.
