Bug Description

Yesterday (2010-04-04), I just installed ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx, beta 1. When I booted the system for the first time, the graphical boot-splash-screen appeared, everything was okay. Then I installed the updates (about 500) and restarted, but then there was no boot-splash-screen, instead of it there was the "text-mode", like on the server edition.

My Hardware:
EEE PC 1000H with Intel Atom N270 and Intel GMA 950, the HDD is encrypted with luks and lvm.

Do you have the plymouth-theme-ubuntu-logo package installed?

Just did a "sudo apt-get install plymouth-theme-ubuntu-logo", and the boot splash-screen appeared again :-)

So it seems that this package was removed (whyever) when I did the first update after installation, because the boot-splash-screen was there when I bootet the system for the first time.

So I think the bug can be regarded as fixed?
