After Installing ATI binary driver, graphical splash looks ugly in a 640x480 resolution and with poor color depth.

I am having similar issues with an NVidia card/driver. I do not know what caused it to be ugly, but it sure looks horrible. Affects both the Ubuntu and Kubuntu Plymouth themes (Ubuntu 64-bit with KDE installed.)
