[nvidia] Boot freeze - can't get to login screen without unplugging HDMI first

Just installed ubuntu 20.04 and I am stuck on ubuntu with a spining logo. If I go to other tty and unplug the HDMI screens I can get to the login screen, Otherwise I cant. I did checked the md5sum of the iso before installing and its was correct.

This sounds kind of like bug 1872159 or bug 1871641.

Can you please try editing /etc/default/grub and remove 'splash' then:

  sudo update-grub

and reboot.
