pinentry takes over GNUPG GPG pin dialog in thunderbird

What I did was install a few different desktop environments:

Fluxbox
Gnome
IceWM
KDE
Openbox
xfce

All of a sudden the thunderbird GPG PIN dialog changed. After removing xfce, Openbox, IceWM & Fluxbox the pinentry window persists. I think the package that may be causing it is pinentry-gtk2 or pinentry-qt4 but since both of them install to the same location I'm not sure which one is to blame.

Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with Thunderbird.

You made this bug report in 2009 and there have been several versions of Ubuntu and Thunderbird since then.

Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the ticket?
Or, if it is still a problem, could you run the following (only once):
apport-collect 446906

and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
