This appears to be very similar to #760771. Not sure if it's the same issue necessarily, but certainly is very similar. Interestingly enough, Pidgin was up and running when I had the crash notification and didn't appear to need to restart.

I have a similar problem: what I noticed is that it crashed when I IM-ed somebody in Skype (the Skype window came up, no text was there and few seconds later it crashed) hope it helps...
