Bug Description
When Pidgin connects to a chat room (with my XMPP account), the Pidgin icon in the gnome panel flashes, the chat window is highligted and what is posted in the chat is announced as new messages, even if I saw them the last time I was connected. I'm not sure I would necessarily want to be alerted about chat messages that already exist in the chat room when I connect, even if I hadn't seen them before.
To reproduce:
1. Enter an XMPP chat room.
2. Write or receive a message in the chat room. (possibly not necessary)
3. Disconnect your XMPP account.
4. Reconnect the account.
5. Reenter the chat room.
Observed result: The messages in the chat room are announces as new, even if you saw them already the previous time you were connected.
Expected result: No announcement of messages in the chat room at reconnection.
