Bug Description

If I run Pidgin normally using GNOME Shell 3.2, Pidgin notifies: "Available - Waiting for Network."
'~$ pidgin --force-online' starts my Pidgin very well with Jabber access though.
<ploppy> told me that the cause is that theNetworkManager does not tell Pidgin that the computer is online.

Reassigning this bug to pidgin so that the pidgin maintainers will assign it to the most appropriate package.

affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) → pidgin (Ubuntu)
