Binary package hint: empathy
When setting Custom message with busy icon from empathy for my yahoo account, my contacts do not see the custom message, only the Busy status. Empathy displays the busy custom status in the status chooser.

empathy uses libpurple(pidgin's backend) for telepathy-haze. since yahoo in empathy use haze the real issue is in pidgin and should be reported to pidgin developers.
