Bug Description
Binary package hint: pidgin
Similar to 389322 except I am using Pidgin version 2.6.1. I cannot connect form my work network to Yahoo IM. All other account types work fine. Yahoo's own client works fine. The only way I've been able to connect to Yahoo IM using Pidgin is by setting up an ssh server at my home PC and proxying through it.

This may be a duplicate of bug #389322. Yahoo! has been changing their protocol which broke compatibility with Pidgin. Ubuntu only provides security updates for a released version in a particular distribution release. A new version of Pidgin won't be provided until the next Ubuntu distribution release. Try using the new Pidgin version from the developers: http:// www.pidgin. im/download/ ubuntu/
