Pidgin does not show buddy icons in yahoo

Bug Description
All the buddy icons in the right have dissapeared.
There is no proxy issue, since I don't use proxy, and i have set the firewall to permisive
Initially i checked the ~/.purple directory to see if pidgin downloads the and i found all of them there, but after asking a friend to change her yahoo avatar pidgin did not update the resource.
I am using Pidgin 2.5.7 on Ubuntu 9.04

Same thing here. I just upgraded to Pidgin 2.5.7 on Windows XP and I can't get the buddy icons to show... didn't find any options. I'm running on a 32-bit Intel platform, but I doubt it's that. Does it have something to do with the new yahoo protocols and all? To me it's not a problem, didn't even noticed it, but I convinced some people these days to drop yahoo messenger and google talk for pidgin, and now they've been all over me with the new protocol and now with this :)... I guess it's a new version problem :|
