Binary package hint: pidgin
Regressions were introduced into the Bonjour protocol in pidgin 1:2.5.2-0ubuntu1 (Intrepid)
The following are all erratic issues that happen on a regular basis with this version:
-file transfer not working
-not being able to message (due to timeouts or just from keeping the client open for a few hours)
-not being able to see peers even when connected
The best I can currently do is restart pidgin on both ends to temporarily fix one of these issues |

I'm seeing this bug as well. Restarting pidgin on both computers was not enough, I had to disable and re-enable the bonjour account on both computers for it to work, too. Wonder if it has anything to do with the hostname. |
