Pidgin isn't recieving incoming requests

Binary package hint: pidgin

It seems that Pidgin isn't recieving any incoming friend requests for MSN. I tried on Pidgin and Kopete and neither showed any requests, but when I signed into the web-based Meebo service the request popped up. I'd guess this would be an issue with Pidgin (and Kopete, perhaps) using an outdated MSN protocol?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Could you try to reproduce the same with Ubuntu 8.10 or 9.04? Thanks in advance.

I'm running 8.10 and have experienced the same issue.

BTW, first time Ubuntu user (came from RedHat, SuSe, Mandriva, ... ) and absolutely lovin' it...Needed to bring out the more hardcore linux features at first but now it's all lovely!
