Bug Description

I am using Ubuntu Hardy as it is and Pidgin was working perfectly, then without warning it crashed, and since then I have never been able to open it without it crashing within the first 2-5 seconds of opening.

I have fully removed Pidgin and all related packages and reinstalled them numerous times. I have been trying to fix this for about a month by searching online and asking for help on the Ubuntu IRC chat room --- without success.

When executing Pidgin from the Terminal this is what is the output:

http://pastebin.com/f26866048

Please help!
Thank You

Zeth

Please, try to obtain a backtrace by following the instructions on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash and on http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces/Details.
(install packages 'pidgin-dbg' and 'gdb' and see here for backtrace https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace)

Set to incomplete until we have a backtrace.

Changed in pidgin:

Hey, thanks for that, but could you help me find a fix or something? The other bug you say this is a duplicate of had no real clear direction as to how to fix this issue.
