Did you check if you are connected to your internet provider? Are you using wireless or wired connection? Sometimes roaming mode in wireless gives me headache especially if I connect to a wireless network with DHCP off and is WEP protected. The Signal bar turns blue but if I right click that icon and click Connection Information, that's when I find out that I don't have an IP address.

Meanwhile pidgin buddy list will display a small error at the bottom. and it will have a reconnect button. So what I do is to first check that my internet connection is okay, then press reconnect in pidgin and all will be okay.

I hope this helps.

Did you check if you are connected to your internet provider? Are you
using wireless or wired connection? Sometimes roaming mode in wireless
gives me headache especially if I connect to a wireless network with
DHCP off and is WEP protected. The Signal bar turns blue but if I right
click that icon and click Connection Information, that's when I find out
that I don't have an IP address.

Meanwhile pidgin buddy list will display a small error at the bottom.
and it will have a reconnect button. So what I do is to first check that
my internet connection is okay, then press reconnect in pidgin and all
will be okay.

I hope this helps.
