Bug Description
Binary package hint: pidgin
Buddies in my list using Alias formatting from the MSN live messenger show up wrongly, such as:
*one [c=47][
[ c=47 ] seems to be a colour instruction whereas [ b ] is obviously a "bold" tag
i understand the lack of interest in textformatting support for buddy names and aliases in pidgin, yet i don't
see the necessity of displaying the formatting code in the buddy name. rather should pidgin understand the code and recognize it
as formatting code, then remove it from the alias or buddy name

i've added the link to the pidgin ticket for taking notice about the implementation of this feature.
