application freezes after copy/paste via mouse context menu

Bug Description

Pidgin 2.13.0
Ubuntu 20.04

Copy/pasting a command into the text box causes Pidgin to freeze - and I need to force quit the application then.

This only happens when I click in the text field with my right mouse button and select paste.

This does not happen when I select the text field and copy/paste via keyboard (CTRL+V).
