Bug Description
OS: Ubuntu 14.04 (i686)
I had discovered following bugs regarding support of the XMPP protocol:
1. in piggin it has been removed to complete disable requirement of secure connections
2. pidgin rejects connection to servers with self-signed certificates. Error messages:
"Unable to validate certificate
The certificate for [trunchated server address] could not be validated. The certificate chain presented is invalid."
"SSL peer presented an invalid certificate"
3. the "old-style SSL connection" produces "Invalid handshake" error
