Pidgin + myspace im = freeze

I just did all the updates this morning 2.2.0 was one of them.

I have 7.10 running on
a Dell Inspiron 7500 (32bit Kernel 256Mb ram) and
a custom AMD64 (64bit Kernel 512Mb ram)

I added my myspace im Account to the list and an enabled it

the first error I got was "read buffer"
after that it logged in

I rebooted opened it and Pidgin locked up

I vnc'd to my 64bit PC and added my myspace im Account to the list there and an enabled it
VNC slowed down updating the screen
ssh took forever to connect or times out

I had to power the desktop off and back on

i have the same problem, pidgin without myspace account work fine, with myspace it will lock up , or not start at all.

Thanks for your bug report.

I installed the latest pidgin version 1:2.2.1-1ubuntu4 in Linux Ubuntu Gutsy and I can't reproduce this problem. Can you also test this version and confirm if you still have that issue?

This bug seems to be known upstream. I've linked the upstream bug from the bug tracking system of Pidgin. You can help this bug betting resolved with developers of Pidgin at this link :
