Thanks for reporting this issue. Middle clicking on the tabs close the tabs, which is compatible with Firefox behavior. But middle clicks on the pane handles should not close the tab.
This may be put as a wishlist. |

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, I am closing it because the package which contains the fix is in the latest development version of Ubuntu - the Gutsy Gibbon. |
