Bug Description
How to reproduce:
1. Start Pidgin
2. Double-click a buddy to start a conversation
3. Write some text into the input field
4. Select some of the input field text with the mouse
5. Middle-click anywhere within the input field
Expected behavior: The previously selected text should be pasted at the point in the input field where the mouse pointer was as the middle button was released (like mouse copy/paste works everywhere in Ubuntu).
Actual behavior: Nothing happens. If I start Pidgin from the shell, there is no error or warning message when copying or pasting.
Details: Mouse copy/paste from the conversation input field to other applications works fine, and vice versa. Even copy/paste from one conversation input field to a separate conversation input field within the same instance of Pidgin works. *Only* copy/paste from a conversation input field to the same conversation input field does not work. Mouse copy/paste within other applications (Firefox, GNOME Shell) works fine.
