Bug Description

The subject has it all. With new libnss3-1d version 3.13.1, Pidgin cannot login to Office Communicator accounts using the pidgin-sipe plugin anymore.

The problem is also described in this Debian bug report: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=649456, which also has a workaround (set NSS_SSL_CBC_RANDOM_IV=0 before starting pidgin), which works for me.

Note that in Bug #950790, the workaround doesn't seem to work, so it's not exactly a duplicate.

It is a duplicate. The guys in the other bug likely do not know how to set the variable.

So as mentioned in the other bug report, setting NSS_SSL_CBC_RANDOM_IV=0 solves the problem. Hope the pidgin-sipe team fixes this and includes it in a later release.

This message in the bug report explains why this happens http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=649456#27
