Bug Description
On default 10.04 Lucid and 9.10 Karmic install (both 32 and 64 bits), Pidgin with musictracker plugin doesn't display the status info from music player Xmms2.
Versions (from 10.04 Lucid):
Pidgin - 2.6.6
Musictracker - 0.4.19
Xmms2 - 0.7 DrNo
The problem is that a symbolic link is missing, or incorrectly named in /usr/lib. Musictracker plugin is searching for '/usr/lib/
This bug is easily reproduceable (and fixable).

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.
There seems to be a bug in pidgin- musictracker, which is to depend on a library '/usr/lib/ libxmmsclient. so' to exist, but there is none, and there shouldn't be to prevent collisions between different versions of libxmmsclient. The correct name for the current version of libxmmsclient is '/usr/lib/ libxmmsclient. so.6'. It would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers of the software. If you have done so, please tell us the link of the bug, so we can add a bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.
Also, there is a packaging bug, where the libxmmsclient6 package is neither in the Depends or Recommends section.
