Bug Description
Binary package hint: pidgin-hotkeys
Having activated the global hotkey plugin from pidgin, and trying to use it to open/close the contact list and also read queued messages, I realize that the window is not getting focus on the window manager. I'm using compiz con Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex, maybe this is the cause?
I'm using pidgin-hotkeys 0.2.4-1
Thanks

This severely affects the usability of this plugin when used with Maximus, or any maximized windows, because the buddy list always appears below all other windows. The effect is that, even though the hotkey is causing the buddy list to pop up in the background, this is not visible to the user at all, and makes it seem as if the hotkey is doing nothing.
This may be related to the fact that the plugin causes Pidgin to skip the window list, so that it also does not appear on the task bar. This is unnecessary and should be removed from the plugin, as it is should be configured by the window manager.
