It is currently packaged in Debian experimental.
It will move to Debian unstable as soon as Lenny is released.

It's still in Debian experimental[1], which is a good sign.

It's possible for us to sync this package into Ubuntu from Debian experimental; please follow the process documented at <https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SyncRequestProcess> if you would like this to happen.

I also subscribed ubuntu-universe-sponsors, as per the SyncRequestProcess.

On a personal level, I installed phpMyAdmin 3.1.2-1 straight from the packages.debian.org website[1] and I've had no problems with talking to my MySQL DB, creating new databases, new tables, adding new users, etc.

I know this is anecdotal and doesn't take into account every aspect of the program nor security, but it's the best I can do.

Iulian Udrea: It helps nobody to create a dupplicate of this bug.

For all: Just fixed the dupplicate status of this bug :it is more logical that the newer bug is a dupplicate of a older bug. --> bug 324299 is a dupplicate of this bug and not vice-versa.

papukaija,

I didn't see that bug when I filed this sync request. The reason why I marked bug #305916 as a duplicate of this one was because that bug didn't look like a sync request. In the end we all want this package to be synced with Debian experimental. That being said, it does NOT really matter if that bug was marked as a duplicate of this one.

I see that you removed the duplicate which is really wrong and I suggest you to read https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/HowToTriage#Developer%20Process%20Bugs.

As you can see, the Archive Administrators are already subscribed to this bug and all we need to do now is wait so the Archive Admins can process the sync request.

Please be more careful in the future.
