Bug Description

Upstream has disappeared, and has not agreed to support PHP 5.4. The latest changes from Debian conflict and/or break this package to avoid problems caused by incomplete 5.4 support. After contacting both the php5 and php-suhosin maintainers in Debian, it seems like this package should be removed from Ubuntu until such time as upstream fully supports PHP 5.4.

Currently php cannot migrate from raring-proposed -> raring because php5-suhosin is uninstallable now due to php5-common conflicting with it.

Also the package that is currently in the archive (since 12.04) is not even allowed into Debian testing because of the 4 RC bugs in it.

Did you? Anyways ... removing it from Ubuntu seems the only valid option
for now, as upstream stated (with my own words):

* don't use patches from anybody else except upstream
* only use released versions (no scm snapshots)
* he just created php-suhosin for himself and published the code, we
shouldn't expect anything

So it looks like there will be no solution to get php-suhosin working
with a recent PHP version soon nor will this software be maintainable
for longterm in a distribution (in the actual situation).

Just my 2 php-suhosin packager cents. Cheers, Jan.
