Bug Description

Binary package hint: pgpool2

As the summary says: running /etc/init.d/pgpool2 stop reports success, but running "ps aux" afterwards shows the 32 pgpool children still running.

This is on Ubuntu 10.04.1 Lucid, pgpool2-2.3.2.1-0ubuntu1

"pgpool stop" seems to work from the command line. Perhaps that's what the initscript should do too?

Simply change:
PIDFILE=/var/run/pgpool.pid
to
PIDFILE=/var/run/pgpool/pgpool.pid
in /etc/init.d/pgpool2

I don't know why they haven't implemented such a simple fix.
