Bug Description

pdfchain has a segmentation fault when starting on ubuntu 17.10.
it is similar to https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1685778
this only happens when using xorg, it seems everything is fine if you use wayland.

in addition to this report that is being ignored, it seems if it is ran with "sudo" it will work fine but "sudo" should not be needed.

This bug is still present to this day, and I just had it in Debian 10 Buster and only way to start "pdfchain" is to run it with "sudo".
