Bug Description

Binary package hint: pcscd

Aladdin etoken pro usb (ID 0529:0620 Aladdin Knowledge Systems ) used to work with the pcscd version in hardy, but does not works anymore with pcscd 1.4.102-1ubuntu1

The token is not anymore visible in Aladdin's middleware, while i can still read an eToken smarcard in another smart card reader.

pcscd is not a driver but a middleware. You should report the bug to the Aladdin etoken pro driver for pcscd.

Your device looks like to be support by the libccid driver. You should follow http://pcsclite.alioth.debian.org/ccid.html#support

I am using the Java eToken from Aladdin and ver 4.55 middleware.
I found that using the latest version of pcscd works (1.5.3) when running the compiled binary with the existing 1.4.102 already installed. (the package from aladdin requires it to be installed)
When will pcscd in ubuntu repository be updated to the new version?

Hi,

I manage to make work my etoken64 with libccid. It doesn't work with libccid1.3.8 and pcscd1.4.102 provided in jaunty, so i used the following debs from debian sid :
ii libccid 1.3.10-1
ii libpcsclite1 1.5.3-1
ii pcsc-tools 1.4.15-1
ii pcscd 1.5.3-1

I need libccid1.3.10 as well to make it work. pcscd1.5.3 was not enough for me.

I have tried as well with openct : i was able to list the token with openct-tool list by tweaking udev rules, removing /dev/bus/usb and adding the openct driver to pcscd. However, the reader wasn't operationnal with pcsc_scan (and then with the etoken Properties) ... the logs only said "ifdhandler[8840]: etoken64: failed to activate token"

From my experience, it seems my etoken64 (0529:0620) is not supported by openct, but works with recent versions of libccid/or pcscd. And it used to work with the packages shipped with ubuntu hardy (8.4)

Thanks you very much, Ludovic Rousseau, for your work on pcscd and libccid !

I have forgotten to mention that with openct, i have also added my usb id into the file /etc/openct.conf on the etoken64 section, to make openct-tool list display my token.
