Bug Description

I have a Dell Inspiron 7500 and upon trying to install Ubuntu on my laptop, I
get lockage at the stage just after you pick your language and keyboard where it
starts loading modules.

It loads pcmcia module, and then accesses the CDROM and then hangs, and never
goes any further during installation.

There are two hangs... the first hang doesn't last for long, and all I could
write down was:

### 1st hang ###
user.notice hw-detect: Missing modules 'agpgart (Intel Corp 440BX/ZX/DX -
82443BX/ZX/DX Host Bridge)

### 2nd hang ### [Repeated over and over in a loop]
Warning: **: bad d-i Packages file
grep:
/cdrom/dists/stable/Release
: Not a directory

I hope this helps... Let me know if there is any other info I can provide to
solve this mystery.

Which CD image did you test? It sounds like your CD-ROM doesn't support DMA
properly. We have worked around this in the current daily CD images.
