Bug Description

Usually, letters typed in pcmanfm result in pcmanfm searching for directories/files beginning with that letter(s). since 12.04 pcmanfm ignores the first letter typed after starting pcmanfm. after escaping such a search and restarting typing letters during the same pcmanfm session, the first letter is recognized.

waiting after starting pcmanfm doesn't help either.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/996680/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

Thank you for reporting this bug. Unfortunately, we cannot troubleshoot this bug without a little more information, as I cannot reproduce this behavior in a currently supported version of Lubuntu (14.04, 14.10).

Are you still encountering this behavior? If so, would you please update this ticket with the version of PCManFM you are using?

One way to find that is by selecting LXTerminal and typing "apt-cache policy pcmanfm" or "ubuntu-bug pcmanfm"

If you are no longer encountering this behavior, this ticket will expire in 60 days. Thank you again for helping us improve Lubuntu.
