bug après mise a jour. lubuntu 18-04 32bits . bureau rétréci

apres mise à jour je constate que la fenêtre bureau n'occupe plus tout l'écran, elle est rognée à gauche et une bande grise se trouve à gauche de l'écran.
a part cela tout semble normal , la barre de tache est normale elle occupe toute la largeur.
au démarrage la fenêtre occupe tout l'écran jusqu'à l'invite de connexion (login), puis après connexion elle est rognée à gauche.
Les logiciels firefox et libre office fonctionnent dans la fenêtre réduite, et si on fait f11 ils fonctionnent en plein écran !!

il semble que le problème est simple à résoudre, et que l'ecran fonctionne bien, c'est peut être la gestion de la fenêtre desktop.
peut ětre openbox ou pcmanfm ?

j'utilise cette version depuis deux ans avec satisfaction.

the bug appear after login. the desktop is reduced, a grey bar appears at the left side of the screen. apart of that all works well.
 package ? pcmanfm or openbox ?

i deleted the file .config and restarted, this solved the problem : the desktop is now correct, it spans the whole screen.
why ??
