pavucontrol can't get connection

1) Ubuntu Karmic 9.10 alpha 6
2) pavucontrol 0.9.8+git20090701-0ubuntu2
3) I tryed to configure PulseAudio

4) When i try to configure PulseAudio with pavucontrol it says,
Connection failed: Connection denied
(german original: Verbindung gescheitert: Verbindung verweigert)

When started from the console i get additionally this outout:

(pavucontrol:6120): Gtk-WARNING **: Failed to set text from markup due to error parsing markup: Error on line 1 char 25: '>' is not a valid character following the characters '</'; '>' may not begin an element name

It works now on my installation, but i needed to install padevchooser with all its dependencies.

Seeing this behaviour in Lucid Beta 1 plus current updates.

Same problem here. Padevchooser and dependencies are installed.

No volume control available, totem freezes when trying to change volume.
Sometimes the hole desktop freezes, SSHing from another system and killing totem helps.
